A Focused Learning Environment in Central Kyoto

Nihongo Center occupies five floors of the Sakura Building in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto. Every space is designed for one purpose: helping adult learners acquire Japanese as efficiently as possible. Small classes, clean study areas, and a relaxed atmosphere make it easier to focus and progress.

Where is Nihongo Center located?
Nihongo Center is in the Sakura Building in Shimogyo-ku, central Kyoto — 10 minutes’ walk from Kawaramachi Station (Hankyu) and Gion-Shijo Station (Keihan). The school occupies floors 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6.
What facilities are available to students?
The school has dedicated classrooms (max 20 students each), air conditioning, a Japanese-language library corner with books, manga, and newspapers, and multilingual staff offices. Note: campus Wi-Fi is restricted to staff — students should plan for mobile data.
Are the classrooms modern?
Yes. Nihongo Center invested in classroom renovations to provide a clean, focused, adult learning environment. Classrooms are equipped with whiteboards, projector screens, and comfortable seating appropriate for adults.
Is there a cafeteria?
There is no cafeteria on-site. Nihongo Center is located in central Kyoto, surrounded by convenience stores (7-Eleven, Lawson), family restaurants, and lunch spots within 2–5 minutes’ walk. Most students bring a bento or eat nearby.
